Cécile Nordegg, the singer and front member of No-Ce will be at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival. No-Ce combine Edith Piaf and Frank Zappa in celebration of French chanson with a rock n roll twist. Their latest release ‘Jazz Proclamation Vol.1&2’ is a moving, humorous and unlike any jazz you’ve heard.
No-Ce is based in Vienna, Austria and fronted by Cécile Nordegg. A chanteuse with a truly remarkable voice which is deeply resonant and expressive, operating in the lower register, already offering a rather unique listening experience.
Who Are No-Ce and Band?
Before fronting No-Ce, Cécile was a successful film and television actor. The musicians who back Cécile have a rich history in the music scene they include. JP Chiche on guitar and background vocals (previously having shared the stage with everyone from Aerosmith to Fats Domino); Andreas Pirringer on sax, flute and clarinet and Walter Bass on piano, all contributing to their compositions. Augmented by American Grammy Award-winning rock guitarist, Jamie Kime (rhythm guitarist for Dweezil Zappa), the combination is both engrossing and intriguing.
No-Ce offer something different with their French Jazz. They are an experience not to be missed. Catch No-Ce & Band at this year’s Edinburgh Festival on August 6/7/8 at 8:30pm at AMC@ UCC.
