Adam Lanceley’s A Lover Like You Teases New Album

Londoner Adam Lanceley has made his latest track available on Soundcloud, a primer for his seventh album, released in early September. Whereas much of his work covers the Gary Usher-type sound of the early 1960s, A Lover Like You sees a slightly more jagged tone, with a semi-barked impassioned vocal that feels mid-way between the more tremulous moments of Bob Dylan and Neil Young. Led by a piano melody, it feels somewhat incidental on first listen, only for the earworm to slowly grow into something that pushes you towards further listening. The album is called Epitaph to Innocence and seems a good way to say goodbye to the summer.
